Pickled Red Onions

What You’ll Need:

  • 1/2 red onion

  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar (or whatever vinegar you like)

  • 1/2 cup filtered water

  • 1 tablespoon black peppercorns

  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic (or 2 garlic cloves)

  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

  • pinch of sea salt

The Method:

  1. Slice the onion into thin slices.

  2. Place the onion into a glass jar or airtight container.

  3. Add the apple cider vinegar, filtered water, black peppercorns, garlic, sea salt and maple syrup to the jar.

  4. Mix the ingredients in the jar with a fork, until thoroughly combined.

  5. Cover the jar with the lid and shake for good measure.

  6. Place the jar in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours.

  7. Enjoy within the next 5 days on top of salads, sandwiches, avocado toast, and more!
